About the Services
Sports Massage
Sports massage is a form of massage that involves manipulation of soft tissue in areas such as the shoulders, back, legs, arms etc. It is always tailored to the needs of the individual and their personal lifestyle. Sports massage is used for pre-event, mid-event, post-event and most commonly for general maintenance.

There are many different techniques used in sports massage and is often used as a treatment along side rehabilitation to aid in recovery.
Passive stretching is sometimes implemented into a sports massage as well as other treatments such as scraping or trigger point therapy.
A common misunderstanding is that you need to be a sports person to get a sports massage. Anyone can have a sports massage!

The benefits of a sports massage:
-
Reduces muscle tension, pain and stress levels.
-
Assists drainage of waste products.
-
Reduces discomfort from DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness)
-
Improves posture and flexibility.
-
Enhances the healing process through increasing blood flow.
-
Breaks down scar tissue and adhesions (knots).
-
Improves quality of sleep.
-
Prevents injury through identifying muscle tightness/imbalances before leading to an injury and improving range of motion.

Myofascial Dry Cupping
Dry cupping (Myofascial Dry Cupping) is a soft tissue treatment often used alongside massage. It involves applying suction to the soft tissue using clear cups placed on the skin, with a pump creating a vacuum. This process can cause temporary bruise-like marks on the skin after treatment.

There are various techniques used in dry cupping, including static, walking/flash, sliding, soft tissue release, and active movement. While many athletes use this as part of their recovery routine, it is not just for athletes—dry cupping can benefit anyone seeking relief from muscle tension.

Benefits of dry cupping:
-
Increases circulation, delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the area
-
Improves flexibility and mobility through a stretch reflex
-
Separates connective tissue layers, causing controlled microtrauma (similar to massage), which stimulates nutrient delivery and the formation of new blood vessels
-
Draws out stagnant blood, which helps reduce pressure and tension within the muscle while removing toxins and waste products
-
Can treat multiple areas of the body in one session, often in combination with other treatments

Injuries and Rehabilitation
No matter the injury, it’s important to have it assessed as soon as possible. Early assessment allows for appropriate recovery and rehabilitation plans to be put in place, helping to prevent further damage and support the healing process.
If acute injuries are ignored, they often develop into chronic issues, which take longer to resolve. Likewise, if advice and rehabilitation plans aren't followed properly, this can lead to further complications.
Recovery takes time, so please don’t expect your injury to be fully resolved after just one session. It requires consistency, patience, and carefully tailored, individualised planning.
